Luca 2021 Movie Review:

Luca is a fantasy story. Director Enrico Cassarosa’s entwined story is based on Italian folk tales and Sea Monster stories found in children’s books. The movie entertains all sections. Especially the friendship between those children with conflicting mentalities evokes emotions. The main strength of the story is the friendship with Alberto, who is as desperate as stealing luggage from boats at sea. The trends make it immersive in the story. Pixar has once again succeeded in presenting complex stories beautifully through moving figures.

The main strength for Luca is the visuals. The beautiful scenery (animated) of Italy in the 50s and 60s is impressive. The visual team is entertained by the difficulty of doing the groundwork for six months. The characterization designs, the voice-over of the artists provided all the emotions perfectly.

However, compared to the previous picture movies, Story Telling in Luca feels weak. This is director Cassarosa’s first film. He wrote this story based on his experiences with a childhood friend in Genoa. This ‘Double Life’ Luca is able to impress the viewers by providing a beautiful experience with a strong emphasis on the theme of friendship.
