We watched Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast.

Beast Movie Story:

One was RAW agent Veera. Why was it, for this, watch the film. Yes, the agent goes to the mall. A hostage situation arises. That hero type is determined to save everyone. Fights terrorists alone. The whole story revolves around this logline. Typical South Indian film. The action took place in slow motion. A single man is fighting with 50 people. He is not afraid of anyone. Bullets are going on. He is running away from among them. He knows everything. Even driving a plane. The plane is moving as if a biker is riding a bike at full speed through narrow lanes. People are dying all around. Hero is walking in his swag.

Beast Movie Review:

It seems that Nelson, the director-writer of the film, has seen many hostage films. Made his mix and presented it in front of the audience. In this, the angle of Pakistan was inserted. If there is Pakistan then it is compulsory to have terrorism. Many elements also seem to be picked up from here and there. Like using an ax. Use of AC tunnel for escape. Many shots also seem to be copied. The effect of many senseless Bollywood films is also seen in the film. The film has been dragged a lot. Yes, the marketing aspect of the film is good. In this, you will find plenty of Hindi-English, sometimes Telugu. And Tamil is the original language of the film. South films are also recognizing the power of Hindi-speaking audiences like Hollywood. The Beast is a great example of that.

The cinematography of the film is fine. Action shots are good. Some shots are very good. The shot showing Vijay from outside a broken glass is excellent. But unfortunately, that too seems to be a diehard copy. Music is OK-Ok. Editing is fine too. The editing of the action sequences is good. VFX is nothing special. In some places, it seems fake. When the plane leaves the middle of the explosion. Clearly looks like VFX.

Acting:

Vijay is in the role of RAW Agent Veera just like he is in his other films, nothing is different. Pooja Hegde is just that. She has been given very little screentime. Selvaraghavan has done a good job in the role of Hostage Negotiator. Yogi Babu has played a great comic character. Ankur Vikal has acted well in the role of Hostage Mastermind. Everything else is fine.

Verdict:

Overall, if you are a fan of Vijay, then go to see the film. Otherwise, the risk is there. If you want to go at your own risk, then go happily.

Beast Movie Rating:

  • 2 / 5 (⭐⭐)
