Mithya Web Series Review:

The story of ‘Mithya‘ continues by keeping Juhi and Riya in the spotlight. But writing has also given place to the characters involved in their world. Like I had an observation about the writing of the show. When Juhi is upset with her student Riya, she talks to one of her colleagues and a friend about it. But at one point the relationship between her and her husband starts derailing. Whenever such moments come in the show, then she reaches her parents’ house. Not to ask them what to do now, but perhaps to see their perfect relationship. The understanding of Juhi’s parents is such that when one starts a thing, the other ends it. That too in a simple way.

Under the guise of murder mystery, the show wanted to study the characters of Juhi and Riya, how they are similar even though they are different. But this is where things messed up. Both Juhi and Riya were let off with a kind of trait. There is no diversity in them. You do not know enough about Juhi that you can sympathize with her.

Talking about the reason for the murder mystery, then that too was wrapped up in a hurry in the end. All of a sudden the dots are connected, and the accused turns into a prankster for the police. This thing knocks, it looks like you have been cheated. Perhaps the makers took the theme of the show too literally.

Editing:

It is important to talk about the editing of the show, which has been kept tight. An attempt has been made to save the time of the audience. This also seems to be due to jump cuts on multiple occasions. As if a character is walking from a distance, then there is no need to show his full walk. He is coming from afar, then the cut came and he is now visible near the camera. On some other occasions, the sound of the next scene starts coming even before its visual. This also sets up the next scene and also saves the time of the story.

Not only were there pros in editing, but there were also some cons. Which was kept intentionally or by mistake, only these makers can tell. Like in some scenes, in order to create suspense, the music gets louder, due to which the dialogues of the characters start suppressing.

Acting:

Now let’s talk about the actors and their acting. This is not the best work of Juhi turned Huma Qureshi, yet here she is seen in control. Don’t let a spectacle build up around your anxiety. At the same time, Avantika’s debut in the role of Riya does not disappoint. There can be hope for them going forward. Riya is a manipulative type of girl, for whom it is not difficult to integrate others. Avantika delivers according to the script. That thing is different that not many shades are seen in her character.

Verdict:

Mithya‘ is not a perfect adaptation. At the same time, it stands in the line of those shows, which cannot handle their climax. The rest can be seen for some aspects.
