The film Serious Man is based on Manu Joseph’s book “Serious Man“. The film is an excellent story. It lends itself to a society divided on the basis of caste, class, and varna, apartheid. Although the name of the film is Serious but the director has made his point in a very light-hearted manner. While commuting, Sudhir Mishra has been an expert in it. The film is around a father and son. If the father is not able to fulfill his dreams, then to what extent does he go to fulfill his desire through the son. Does that dream still come true? How far was it right to fulfill his stubbornness by snatching away his son’s childhood? Read the full review to know all this:

Serious Men Movie Review:

Movie Story:

Nawazuddin plays the role of PA Ayyan Mani of Dr. Acharya (Nasser), head of the institute at the National Institute of Fundamental Research. Ayyan (Nawazuddin) is a Dalit. Due to caste, he had much discrimination from childhood until her youth, then in the job. Ayyan does not forget all that. He knows that he will earn a living, but rarely will he get a good life. So he decides that he will not compromise his life. But the maddening thing is that Mohra becomes his son Adi (Akshat Das), he compromises his son’s childhood in order to fulfill his ambition. His son Adi is a genius. He is understood by the people as the Einstein of the future. Whether he realizes what he does wrong with his son under the guise of his insistence, this is the story of the film.

But through Ayyan and Adi, the director has made a brilliant sarcasm on casteism, varna, word division. Under the pretext of black holes of science, the directors depict the black holes of the society. If Ayyan did wrong to the son, then he is not alone, but the whole society is responsible for him. This film by Sudhir Mishra is an important film. And such films should be made continuously.

What’s good:

The plot of the film is quite good. Nawaz is the narrator in the film and he has impressed with his impressive style. The story is raised on a serious subject. But the style of the presentation is not eloquent. The climax of the film is superb.

What is bad:

The duration of the film can be shortened. Repetitive dialogues could have been avoided.

Acting:

Nawazuddin plays his character fabulously. Akshat Das and Indira Tiwari have also done a good job. Shweta Basu Prasad has also performed brilliantly.

Verdict: People will see and appreciate the film from Word of Mouth.

Ratings: 3/5
