Cuttputlli Movie Story:

Arjan Sethi wants to become a filmmaker. Psycho serial killers are her favorite subject. When no one is ready to invest money in his film, he joins the police job vacated by his father’s death at the behest of his sister. With the help of his brother-in-law, he gets a posting in Kasauli. There are constant murders of school girls. Since Arjan has good knowledge and understanding of psychopath serial killers, he helps in the investigation. Captures the killer and presents a sample of his heroism.

Being set in the mountains of Himachal, the setup of ‘Cuttputlli‘ seems quite similar to the two recent web series, ‘Undekhee’ and ‘Aranyak’. Both are police dramas. So the similarity is more visible, especially with Aranyak. The killer is also being searched in ‘Cuttputlli‘, also in ‘Aranyak’. Both are crime thrillers. But one thing knocks in ‘Cuttputlli‘. This crime thriller is only on paper. There is a crime here, no trace of thrill. Seeing this, the curiosity of knowing the criminal does not arise in your mind. Murders keep happening continuously. But there is no intensity in the film. Is simply showing a murder every 15 to 20 minutes an important part of a crime thriller?

Direction & Writing:

Ranjeet Tiwari has amazing direction. Crime is a crime, thrill missing. After a while, you start getting bored. The strongest aspect of a crime thriller is its speed. The same is missing from ‘Cuttputlli‘. Sequences have been inserted without meaning. The first half hour goes into the story buildup itself. Instead of two and a half hours, if it was a movie of one and a half or two and a half hours, then there might have been more gripping.

Asim Arora’s writing is very weak. Dialogues are so typical of what to say! Akshay says to the killer: There are many dialogues, which you must have heard hundreds of times in Hindi films. Its script demanded more hard work. The story was already cooked, just had to write the screenplay. It is possible that writers and directors should also have a habit of getting things done quickly like Akshay.

Acting:

Akshay Kumar played the character of Arjan Sethi in the movie Cuttputlli. Wonderful work. Akshay Kumar has done his acting very well. You never forget for a moment that Akshay Kumar is on the screen. It seems Arjan Sethi has played the role of Akshay Kumar.

Rakul Preet did a fine job in the role of a school teacher. She has done what was done to her. Chandrachur Singh has done a great job. In the role of SHO, Sargun Mehta surprises in some places. Sargun has the potential to be a good actress. All the other actors have also done their part well.
