Home Shanti Web Series Story:

‘Home Shanti‘ is the story of a middle-class family in Dehradun. Who has to shift from the government quarter to his house. From Bhoomipujan to Griha Pravesh, from money to choose, whatever difficulties arise in building a house, the series revolves around it. Sarla Joshi is the Vice Principal of the school and the only earning member of the household. A suspicious mood keeps sweeping her mastery on the family members. Father Umesh Joshi ‘Sujan’, is a poet by both mood and profession. Jigyasa Joshi is the elder sister of the house. Jigyasa’s younger brother is Naman. Both are studying now. Like every brother and sister, both fight and take care of each other.

Exactly such a tumultuous relationship is that of husband and wife, Umesh and Sarla. Like the typical family, this family also has some neighbors as the middle class is shown on the screen who has too much interference in the house. Sister has a friend, who gives her advice on everything. Brother also has a friend, who keeps giving him knowledge. Apart from all this, there is a character of his grandmother, who always stirs everyone on video calls. One is the contractor Pappu Bhai Saheb who is building the house of the Joshi family. In such different episodes, some small characters keep getting introduced.

First, let’s talk about acting. Supriya Pathak looks fine in the character of Sarla. Looking at them, I remember some kind of ‘khichdi’ Supriya. Manoj Pahwa has also played the role of Kaviraj Sujan properly. Chakori Dwivedi has done a great job in the role of Jigyasa. As a middle-class girl, she has been successful in portraying her in the same way. She is apt in the role of elder sister.

Poojan Chhabra has done a lot of overacting in the role of Naman. Siddharth Batra has done a great job in the role of his friend Gulati. Happy Ranjit has also done well in the role of Pappu Contractor. The one whose work I liked the most is Amarjit Singh, who played the character of a laborer named Shankar Dhoni. Excellent work Comic timing is very up to the mark. His expressions seem fine. The rest of the minor characters have also done well.

A team of 6 people has written this together. But such a big team may have written the first few episodes in their sleep. The writing of the last two episodes is good. Some comic dialogues are good.

Verdict:

The series does not serve anything new. If you want to sit with your family and watch, then have a look. Or, if you want to see something light, then have a look. If you want to refresh the nostalgia of TVF’s videos then also watch it.
